The Grill Capital of Project 8, QC. |
Mang Boks and Andoks take the lead in the grill business, and then Senior Perdo, then the food store famous for grilling on volcanic rocks, and next to that are some other local eateries or karinderia, and some corner barbecue stands. I love Mang Boks and Andoks, but the grilling stand right after the popular fried chicken store adjacent to 7-11 has interesting grilled seafoods I and my wife love--especially the grilled relyenong bangus (stuffed grilled milkfish) that sells for only P50 which is already good for 4 persons. The grilled squid looks and smells appetizing as well.
Some walking distance away along Short Horn is Pixie's Sinugba (grills) which is also our favorite, and we especially love their version of grilled relyenong boneless bangus. For special occasions we buy our grilled food there. You wait for 15 minutes which may seem to take forever when you smell the aroma of grilled fish and your tummy is complaining because it's already 12 noon.
With other food items, I won't recommend the local eateries or karinderia. Some offer good menus, others just recycled ones. "Recycled" means the menu unsold the day before would be presented today in a different form. Same ingredients, different menu name. Well, not all of them, though. So watch closely what food you buy. I'd recommend the grilled selections. At least, with them, you can be 95 percent certain they're from a fresh batch.
